dear maine, i love you

great short getaway. we are back now and we loved every minute of our trip to maine (well except for the biting flies minutes of course). otherwise completely wonderful: great food, friendly people, nice beaches, lovely scenery. low key, no fuss. some kind of simple wonderful.

have a great weekend all, xo, g

  1. fun to read this posting! i have been following your blog for awhile, because of your food sensibility, which i share. i live in south portland, maine--moved up here from NYC about 9 mos ago. i love it ... it has been amazingly beautiful so far this summer.

  2. thank you susan! you sure have got a great state in maine. we explored portland a bit, and really enjoyed it, especially loved longfellow books, and many other wonderful things.

  3. yes, longfellow is excellent, and amazingly, we have several independent bookstores. (did you get to Rabelais, the food/cooking bkstore?) it's a good city to wander in..and so many natural pleasures all around. next time, i'll give you a list! or, a tour!

  6. thanks for the tips susan, and no i did not get to rabelais, although it sounds great. seriously dangerous for me to go to a food/cooking bookstore while traveling (luggage). i will never forget my first visit to kitchen arts and letters in new york, couldn't believe my eyes. will count on your advice next trip to portland.
