suze, yes, edible! marine (ocean dwelling) sea weed is non toxic, unlike freshwater sea weed which is toxic. i should quickly add that I am by no means a sea weed taxonomy expert and I have never personally harvested sea weed for culinary purposes. i do find it absolutely gorgeous, however.
